SLIP AND FALLS
Slip and fall or trip and fall accidents happen every day and they are especially troublesome because they can happen anywhere to anyone. According to the National Floor Safety Institute, falls account for over 8 million (23%) hospital emergency room visits, making falls the leading cause of ER visits. Just slip and falls account for over 1 million of those visits. A wet floor or a loose mat in a hotel, bar, grocery store, or shopping mall causes you to fall, and all of a sudden you’re injured, and your life and that of your family are forever changed.
The most common types of incidents are:
CAR ACCIDENTS
A car accident can change your life. Another driver is careless on the road, and suddenly you are overwhelmed with hospital and doctor visits. Medical bills pile up, your car needs to be fixed, and you are missing work. You may even be faced with permanent and serious injury or have to say goodbye to a loved one. All the while, the insurance adjuster is trying to settle your claim as cheaply as possible.
There are a number of reasons a defendant may be at fault, but it is not always cut and dry. Some examples of car accident cases Mr. Marino handles are:
MEDICAL MALPRACTICE
Have you or a loved one had surgery and are worse than you were before your procedure? Have you lost a loved one as a result of a procedure and cannot understand why? If you feel that a doctor was negligent, and that carelessness caused your injury, please contact Mark Marino. Although Mr. Marino cannot undo the injury or harm caused to you or a loved one, he can make sure you are fully compensated for your injuries and losses.
What is Medical Malpractice? For as long as you can remember, if you felt sick you would go to the doctor to see what is wrong. We’ve all grown up to trust the doctor’s opinion and rely on their diagnosis and care to make us feel better. Unfortunately, not all diagnoses or treatment plans are accurate and/or the treatment is implemented incorrectly. When an inaccurate diagnosis or poor execution of treatment results in a terrible injury or even death it is medical malpractice.
Malpractice occurs when a healthcare worker, doctor, or surgeon makes a mistake that injures a patient. A malpractice case will require three factors:
Negligence – The doctor was negligent and their actions fell below the standard of care
Injury – The negligence caused a death or injury
Damages – The injury led to specific damages (both economic and non-economic)
Some examples of potential medical malpractice claims are:
